Between January and October 2015, Bulgarian exports to third countries amounted to BGN 13.6 B, representing an increase of 0.8 % compared to the same period in 2014.

This is revealed by the latest figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), which were released on Thursday.

The main trading partners of Bulgaria were Turkey, China, Serbia, Russia, the US, Macedonia, Singapore, which together accounted for 54.7 % of all exports to third countries.

In October alone, Bulgarian exports to third countries exceeded BGN 1.3 B, which represented a decrease of 11.8 % compared to the same month last year.

In the first ten months of this year, Bulgarian imports from third countries amounted to BGN 15.5 B, recording a decrease of 6.2 % compared to the same period in 2014.

The greatest volume of goods was imported from Russia, Turkey, China and Ukraine.

In October alone, Bulgarian imports from third countries exceeded BGN 1.5 B, registering a drop of 9.6 % compared to the same month last year.

Bulgaria's balance of trade with third countries in the first ten months was negative and exceeded BGN 1.8 B.

In October alone, the balance of trade was also negative and amounted to BGN 209 M.

Between January and October, Bulgaria registered the greatest increase in the exports of fats, oils and waxes from animal and plant origin, while the greatest drop was recorded in the exports of mineral fuels, oils and similar products.

In the first ten months of this year, the greatest increase was registered in the imports of food and live animals as well as mineral fuels, oils and similar products, while the greatest decrease was recorded the imports of soft and alcoholic drinks and tobacco.
