Bulgaria is ready to allocate state budget funding for several sports events in 2016, including a tournament from the ATP World Tour 250 series in February, Sports Minister Krasen Kralev has said.

Speaking to journalists, he has also listed two European ski championships (in Borovets and Pamporovo), the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, boxing tournaments, and several other events.

ATP announced in October that it had included Bulgaria in its 2016 event calendar for the first time after relocating the tournament from Croatia's capital Zagreb.

The Garanti Koza Sofia Open will be staged between February 1 and 7 at the Arena Armeec hall in Sofia.
