Bulgaria: Grigor Dimitrov Arrives in Bulgaria for Exhibition Match with Gael Monfils

The highest ranking Bulgarian male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov arrived in Sofia late on Thursday evening.

Dimitrov is in his home country for participation in the exhibition match against Gael Monfils from France, which is scheduled to take place at the Arena Armeec hall in Sofia on Saturday.

Monfils is expected to arrive in the Bulgarian capital on Friday afternoon, with a press conference of the two players scheduled to take place later on Friday.

The demonstration match is scheduled to start at 20:00 EET and will be broadcasted live on NOVA TV and online at gong.bg.

Tickets for the show were sold out only weeks after the match was announced, with only VIP ones left, their price being BGN 300.

There is a great interest towards the match as it will be the first encounter of tennis stars of such a scale to be held in Bulgaria.

This will also be the first match of Dimitrov in front of Bulgarian audience after he refused to play in the vital Davis Cup play-off against Hungary, which took place in Sofia in September.
