Bulgaria: First Snow Falls in Bulgaria's Northwest

The first snow for the season fell in parts of Bulgaria, while rain is expected to fall in most of the country on Thursday.

The first snowfall occurred in the northwest of the country, namely in the regions of Montana, Vidin and Vratsa.

The snow cover in Vidin is two centimeters, while it measures one centimeter in Montana, Darik radio informs.

A yellow code for intensive rainfall is issued for all regions of the country, while yellow code for snowfall and strong winds is in force in parts of Bulgaria.

Considerable precipitation is expected in western, central and eastern Bulgaria, where between twenty and thirty litres per square metre are expected to fall.

Strong winds are expected in eastern and northeastern Bulgaria, while yellow code for abundant rainfall and snowfall is in force for the regions of Vidin, Vratsa and Montana.
