The foreign ministry issued an advice to Bulgarian citizens in connection with the heightened terror threat in Brussels and the possibility of any unfavourable developments.
Belgian authorities raised the terror alert in the region of the capital to the highest possible level - IV.
The ministry advises Bulgarians planning a trip to the Belgian capital or already residing in Belgium to regularly inform themselves of the latest changes to the internal situation.
The ministry recommends to Bulgarians to avoid places of mass gatherings such as shopping centers, markets, street, cultural or sport events, railway stations and bus stations.
In case of immediate necessity to attend such places, citizens should be particularly vigilant.
The ministry reminds citizens to keep in mind that the underground in Brussels will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Bulgarian citizens planning a short-term trip to Belgium can register at the ""Travelling to ..." service available on the website of the ministry or provide their contact details to the Bulgarian embassy in Brussels.
