Turkish police arrested on Saturday a Belgian man of Moroccan descent, who is suspected of scouting out the sites targeted in the attacks in Paris on November 13.

The 26-year-old Ahmet Dahmani was detained at a luxury hotel in the city of Antalya, while two other people were detained for possible links to him.

All three men are suspected of being affiliated to Islamic State (IS), which claimed responsibility for the attacks that left 130 people dead and hundreds injured.

The other two detained are 29-year-old Ahmet Tahir and 23-year-old Mohammed Verd, both Syrian citizens.

They were arrested on a nearby motorway on suspicion that they had been sent by IS in Syria to ensure the safe passage of Dahmani across the border and were planning to meet him.

The suspects were in the possession of fake passports, Hurriyet daily informs.
