Bulgaria has attracted some EUR 1.1 B in foreign direct investment over the first three quarters of this year, data from the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) has suggested.

The amounts registered are EUR 443.2 M, 355.9 M, and 302.4 M in the three quarters, respectively.

FDI was a negative EUR 200.3 for the same period of last year due to a drop in debt instruments, the data shows.

A breakdown of biggest investors for 2015 places the Netherlands on top, followed by Austria, France, Norway, Belgium, and Italy.

Bulgarian investment abroad was at EUR 76.6 M between January and September 2015, compared to EUR 528.4 M for the same period of last year.
