Bulgaria will focus on media independence and protection of vulnerable groups during its six-month term as Chair of the Council of Europe, Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said on Friday.
Promotion of children's rights and widening access to culture of young people are also among the priorities on Bulgaria’s agenda as head of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Mitov said at a meeting with foreign diplomats and officials of international organsations in Sofia.
Bulgaria assumed the rotating six-month presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe from Bosnia and Herzegovina on November 10.
Mitov invited his counterparts from the countries of the Council of Europe to take part in the 126th session of the Committee of Ministers which will take place in Sofia on May 18, 2016.
