Heads of State of NATO member countries from Central and Eastern Europe will convene at a summit at the Cotroceni Palace in Bucharest on Wednesday.

Bulgaria will be represented by President Rosen Plevneliev, who is on an official visit to Bucharest for participation in the summit, the press service of the presidency informs.

The Central and Eastern European presidents will discuss the challenges facing NATO in the context of the changes to the geopolitical security environment.

The plenary session of the meeting will be jointly chaired by the presidents of Romania and Poland, Klaus Iohannis and Andrzej Duda.

The plenary session will seek ways towards achieving stronger and more adapted NATO for a reinforced Euro-Atlantic security, solidarity and cohesion.

The presidents of Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are expected to attend the meeting.
