Bulgaria: Bulgaria Gives Aid to Hungary over Migrant Influx A group of migrants crosses a border from Croatia near the village of Zakany, Hungary, Saturday, September 26, 2015.

Bulgaria will transfer some BGN 0.1133 M (nearly EUR 0.058 M) in humanitarian aid to Hungary as the country is still struggling to deal with thousands of migrants from the Middle East willing to reach Germany.

At a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the government has thus decided to answer to Hungary's calls for international support over the migratory pressure it has been facing for weeks.

The Bulgarian government says the money will be spent on 50 tents, 2000 blankets and 1000 sleeping kits. Sofia will also pay the transport expenses.

Officials say the aid will help "overcome the consequences of the serious influx into [Hungary]," the cabinet's press office has said.
