Bulgaria's Radanova Third in 500 at Short Track World Cup

World record holder Evgenia Radanova of Bulgaria finished third in the women's 500 metres in World Cup short-track speed skating in Bormio, Italy. Radanova was third in 44.554 while Amanda Overland of Cambridge, Ont., was fourth in 45.329. Canada's Amelie Goulet-Nadon finished first, beating countrywoman Alanna Kraus to that the 500 meters race. Goulet Nadon won in 44.277. In the men's competition Italian Fabio Carta won the 500 meters race in 42.161, cheered on by more than 1,000 Italian fans. Countryman Nicola Rodigari was second, 0.5-second back and Nicola Franceschina was third. The Bormio event is the fourth stage of the six-round World Cup competition. The last two stages will take place in Salt Lake City, Utah and Chicoutimi, Canada in February.
