At a meeting of the EU-facilitated high level dialogue on the normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina on Tuesday, Serbia and Kosovo marked a progress in their relations after signing four key agreements.

This was announced by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, who chaired a meeting between the respective prime ministers of Serbia and Kosovo - Aleksandar Vucic and Isa Mustafa.

The aim of the meeting was to finalise the implementation arrangements of four key agreements – on energy, telecommunications, establishment of the Association/Community of Serb majority municipalities and the Freedom of Movement/Mitrovica Bridge.

According to Mogherini, this marked a turning point in the dialogue agenda and represented a landmark achievement in the normalisation process, the EU External Action Service informs.

The two sides agreed on the general principles and the main elements of the Association/Community of Serb majority municipalities, paving the way for its establishment.

Vucic explained that the community will have broad powers and the agreement provides for a president, vice-president, assembly, council, coat of arms and a flag, Tanjug news agency reports.

They also agreed on further implementation of the energy agreement and the Action Plan for Telecoms, which will facilitate the telecommunications system and operations in Kosovo.

The two leaders finally agreed the arrangement for the Mitrovica Bridge, which defines the use of the bridge in a mutually acceptable way.

Mogherini noted that the agreements will not only bring benefits to the ordinary people, but will also move forward Serbia and Kosovo on their path to EU integration.

The High Representative assured that the EU will actively support the full implementation of the arrangements and will continue to facilitate the dialogue in the coming months.
