Hungary has sentenced a Bulgarian national to a year and a half in jail for illegal traffic of migrants, the Sofia-based BNT TV channel reported on Tuesday, citing a Hungarian newspaper report.

The Bulgarian man, whose name was not disclosed, had reportedly attempted to smuggle nine Syrian refugees from Hungary into Germany by mini bus, according to BNT.
