Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov and Greek counterpart Alexis Tsipras have discussed the flow of migrants to Bulgaria's southern neighbors, the government's press office has said.

The two have voiced their concern over the increased migratory pressure and the influx of thousands of asylum seekers to Greek islands. More than 100 000 migrants have flocked to the country's borders since the year began.

They have also raised the question about the need to speed up construction of the gas interconnection between their respective countries.

Borisov has also thanked Tsipras for Athens' move to revoke the 26-percent withholding tax on transactions originating from sources in Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Ireland.
