According to initial information, the trailer contains 20 tonnes of fuel which is being drained by firefighters to prevent a potential explosion.

The accident took place on a bridge 37 km east of Sofia about 17:45 (1445 GMT). The truck driver spent nearly two hours in the mangled cabin hanging off the bridge more than 120 metres above ground before rescuers using a crane pulled him out. An ambulance took the driver to hospital.
