Bulgaria: Two People Allededly Linked to IS Entered Bulgaria on Their Real ID Cards - BNT

A man and a woman allegedly linked to the Islamic State group and searched for by Bulgarian police, have used fake identity documents to leave a neighbouring country but have entered Bulgaria using their real ones, BNT TV station has reported.

A partner security agency has tipped the Bulgarian authorities about the false identity cards of the two, BNT said citing sources. Their real names were specified later.

Several Bulgarian news websites released on Sunday photos of two identity cards depicting a man called Mimo Popescu, a Romanian national, and a woman named Ezida Elham, a French citizen of Iranian descent.

The Bulgarian authorities have released no information about the man and the woman.

No European arrest warrants have been issued for Popescu and Elham, according to the BNT sources.

The only available information is operational data that the two are preaching the ideology of the Islamic State group, recruiting militants to fight in Syria and providing false identity documents, BNT said.
