Fiat workers in Italy intensified their protests on Friday against the car company's planned mass lay-offs. Staff at several Fiat plants have blockaded roads, gone on strike and organised marches to voice their fury at the debt-crippled company's restructuring. Talks between government, trade unions and Fiat broke down Thursday night after unions rejected a government-brokered plan to soften the impact of the job losses.
