A strike being held by Greek flight controllers is to affect flight schedule between Sofia and Athens on Wednesday evening, BGNES wire service quotes Sofia Airport officials as saying.

There will be a two-hour delay of Wednesday's Athens-Sofia-Athens flight No A3858 that was to land in Sofia at 19:25 and No A3859, which was take off en route to the Greek capital at 19:55.

The information has not yet appeared on Sofia Airport's website.

Flight controllers in Greece are calling for the introduction of a new and upgraded air-traffic control system and new staff.

New strike action is due on August 14 if their demands are not heard.
