The heat wave, which has gripped Bulgaria, is expected to reach its peak on Thursday with temperatures expected to exceed forty degrees.

Orange code for high temperatures has been issued for all 28 regions of the country with the temperatures in many places expected to be between 38 an 41 degrees, private bTV station informs.

Clouds will start to appear in the afternoon with precipitations of short duration and thunderstorms occurring at dusk and during the night.

The temperatures in the next days will drop, but it will be still hot as the weather will remain mostly sunny with precipitations occurring at some places.

The highest temperature on Wednesday was measured in Veliko Tarnovo, where the temperature reached 41.6 degrees.
