Bulgarians working abroad sent home remittances amounting to nearly EUR 360 M in the period January-May.
This is shown by the preliminary figures of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), private bTV station reports.
Only in May, the remittances sent by Bulgarians working abroad amounted to nearly EUR 83 M.
Thus, remittances retain their levels with the corresponding figure in the period January-May 2014 being slightly lower than this year's one.
The remittances sent by Bulgarians working abroad are comparable to the level of direct investments made in the country in May.
However since the beginning of the year the investments have been twice the level of remittances.
It should be noted that the statistics takes into account only the official bank transfers.
