Will Bulgaria Have a Stable Government After Yet Another Election in June? Our Readers Have Spoken
On our Facebook page, readers were asked about Bulgaria's stability after the June elections
During his working visit to the USA, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov called for more US investments and tourists to Bulgaria as well as the waiver of visas for Bulgarian citizens traveling to the USA.
According to him, there were favourable conditions for both more tourists and investments in Bulgaria, which was undergoing a stable development compared to the economic and political difficulties other European countries were facing.
The government of Bulgaria was aiming to reform the judicial system and ensure the rule of law, which was a necessary condition for attracting foreign investments to the country, the foreign ministry informs.
Mitov numerously highlighted that the visa regime, which the USA applies towards Bulgarian citizens, does not correspond to the excellent political relations and the strategic partnership between the two countries.
This state of relations allowed third countries to exploit contradictions arising between the Euro-Atlantic countries and the circulation of negative propaganda messages.
Mitov called on the representatives of the US administration on continuing the active joint efforts on the waiver of visas for Bulgarian citizens.
The Bulgarian foreign minister also discussed the perspectives for diversification of Bulgaria's energy suppliers.
The partner relations between Bulgaria and the USA within the framework of NATO were also discussed.
The need for modernising the Bulgarian armed forces as well as opportunities for deepening the bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism were also among the topics of discussion.
