The Bulgarian men’s national volleyball team suffered on Saturday a heavy defeat in the final of Group 2 of the FIVB World League.

Bulgaria lost 0-3 to France (16-25, 20-25, 21-25) in a match, which was played in the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna.

Despite playing at home and having the backing of more than 5000 supporters, Bulgaria failed to offer staunch resistance to its opponent.

Thus, Bulgaria missed its chance to be promoted to Group 1 and to play in the final round, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro

France remains undefeated in this year's edition, having achieved fourteen straight victories and will travel to Brazil to take part in the Final 6 round.
