The Bulgarian men's national football team dropped six positions in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, which was released on Thursday.

At present, Bulgaria occupies the 68th place with 489 points, being behind the team of Norway and ahead of the United Arab Emirates.

The 2015 Copa America runner-up Argentina ousted the reigning world champion Germany from the first position.

Belgium dropped one position to third place, Colombia retained its fourth position, while the Netherlands climbed one spot to fifth place.

The teams of Romania, England and Wales all made it into top ten at the expense of Spain and Uruguay, while the reigning Copa America champion Chile climbed to eleventh position.

The team of Belize was the best mover in the ranking, climbing 37 positions to 118th place, while the Central African Republic was the worst mover dropping 29 spots to 170th position.

Anguilla is at the bottom of the ranking with no points.

In addition to Norway, two other opponents of Bulgaria in the UEFA Euro 2016 qualification Group H have a better ranking.

Croatia climbed four position to 14th place, while Italy dropped the same number of spots to 17th position.

The remaining two teams from the group are far behind, with Azerbaijan climbing seven positions to 108th place, while Malta dropped thirteen spots to 158th position.

Bulgaria will face Norway in a direct encounter for the third place in Group H at the Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia on September 3.
