French PM Manuel Valls said a possible ''Grexit'' would have a massive negative impact over EU economies.

He made the statement in an interview for a French radio station Tuesday.

''France ill do everything so that Greece remains in the Eurozone because that's where it belongs, at the heart of the European project,'' Valls noted.

He added that Europe should not be taking the risky move and that there is still room for negotiations regarding the debt crisis.

Valls defended his position at the discussions held in French Parliament.

Currently, EU leaders are divided on their position on the case. Germany, Finland, Slovakia and the Baltic states are holding a more conservative position, demanding immediate reforms. France, Italy and Spain, on the other hand, have adopted a more conciliatory tone.

"It is now up to the government of Alexis Tsipras to make serious, credible proposals so that this willingness to stay in the Eurozone can translate into a lasting program," said French President Francois Hollande after the talks held between him and German Chancellor Angela Merkel Monday.

The statement was made after Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis submitted his resignation. He was replaced by Euclid Tsakalotos.

The situation in Greece remains the focus of attention on Tuesday as Greek PM Alexis Tsipras is expected to present a detailed list of proposals.
