Bulgaria: Bulgarian Ambassador to US Says Was Subject to Hack Attack Print screen

Bulgaria's Ambassador to the US Elena Poptodorova has said her mail address has been "hacked" as part of a scam.

All her contacts have received messages wherein she asks for USD 2850, claiming to have been "mugged at gunpoint" in the Philippines.

Poptodorova, however, is in Washington DC and completely safe, as her Thursday interview with NOVA TV shows.

The message included all her addresses and telephone numbers, and recipients included US and Bulgarian diplomats as well as journalists.

It reads that she needs the money to pay hotel expenses after all her valuables "were stolen".
