Shocker: Bulgaria Drops from UK Tourists' Cheapest Summer Spots List
In an unexpected turn, Bulgaria and Turkey have been notably absent from the list of the ten cheapest European summer destinations for British tourists
The Greek government assured that foreign tourists staying in the country will be able to withdraw money and make transactions if in possession of a credit card issued in their home country.
According to the information, anyone issued with a credit card in a foreign country will not be affected by the newly imposed measures, which limit bank withdrawals, daily Kathimerini reports.
The Greek government announced on Sunday a bank holiday in the country and capital controls, which are expected to last at least until July 5, when the proposed bailout referendum is scheduled to take place.
The measures were imposed after the European Central Bank (ECB) froze emergency loans to the country's lenders.
Nevertheless, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry warned citizens traveling to Greece to have enough cash with themselves.
The ministry call on citizens to have readiness that bank services, including the processing of credit cards and the servicing of cash machines throughout Greece, could become potentially limited for an indefinite period of time.
Therefore, the ministry recommends the possession of enough euro in cash, which could cover extraordinary situations and unforeseen circumstances.
