Bulgaria's chess grandmaster Veselin Topalov continued his excellent performance at the Norway Chess Supertournament, which is taking place in Stavanger.

Topalov, who played with the black pieces on Monday, recorded his fifth victory after defeating the Russian Alexander Grischuk at the 39th move.

The Bulgarian remains undefeated after six rounds and tops the ranking with 5.5 points, one and a half point ahead of Viswanathan Anand, who is in second place.

In the next round, which begins on Tuesday, Topalov will face Fabiano Caruana, the Bulgarian starting with the white pieces.
