Bulgaria has not been granted an extension of the deadline to use the money granted under the Rural Development Program 2007-2013, meaning that ongoing projects financed under the program should be wrapped up by end-September, according to Agriculture Minister Desislava Taneva.
Taneva attended Monday the sod-turning ceremony for a BGN 5.8 M project for the reconstruction of the water supply network of the northern villages of Podem and Riben, Dolna Mitropolia municipality. The project is implemented under the Rural Development Program.
Taneva made clear that the activities under the ongoing projects had to be completed by end-September so that they could be paid by the State Fund Agriculture by end-2015.
Bulgaria’s Agriculture Minister informed that the efforts of the authorities, including of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, had failed to bring an extension of the deadline under the operational program.
She emphasized that the contractors had to wrap up activities under all of the ongoing projects financed under the program by September 15, 2015.
Taneva, as cited by the press office of the Agriculture Ministry, underscored that the water supply network project at Podem and Riben was also supposed to be completed in 50 days.
