Bulgarian football player Valeri Bojinov signed on Sunday a two-year contract with Serbian club Partizan Belgrade.
Bojinov became the second Bulgarian player in the current squad after defender Ivan Bandalovski had joined the team in the beginning of the year.
The Bulgarian striker was officially presented and posed with the jersey of his new team, daily Dnevnik reports.
Partizan is the reigning football champion of Serbia, having won the domestic SuperLiga and the team will compete in the qualification round of the Champions League.
Bojinov moved to Partizan as a free agent after his contract with Italian Serie B side Ternana expired at the end of the season.
Partizan had initially expressed interest towards Bojinov three years ago, but then the Bulgarian opted for Lecce.
Bojinov expressed his gratitude towards Partizan for providing him with the opportunity to play for the best club in Serbia and could not hold his emotions from his transfer to this great club.
The Bulgarian apologised for his poor Serbian language, but promised that he will improve it within a month.
Bojinov admitted that before taking his decision he had consulted with fellow Bulgarian Ivan Ivanov, who played for Partizan for two years before moving to Basel in 2013.
Bojinov started his career in Lecce and has successively played for Fiorentina, Juventus, Manchester City, Parma, Sporting, Verona, Vicenza and Levski Sofia.
