Bulgaria: Top Management of Road Infrastructure Agency Replaced
Engineer Ivan Dosev was removed from the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency.
On June 7, an 8.6-km section of the right lane of the Maritsa motorway section connecting Svilengrad and Kapitan Andreevo will open for traffic.
The project was implemented with funding from the state budget under the New Construction program of Bulgaria’s Road Infrastructure Agency.
The launch of the motorway section will allow people to use a motorway when traveling between Dimitrovgrad and the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing.
The investment stands at nearly BGN 28 M.
The contractor is PST Group EAD.
The left lane of the Maritsa motorway, from the 99th to to 108th kilometer, was built in the 80s.
The construction of the right lane started in 2013 after the government provided money for the launch of construction works.
The total length of the Maritsa motorway, from the link with the Trakia motorway to the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing, is around 117km.
