Bulgaria: Bulgaria Climbs Five Positions in FIFA World Ranking

The Bulgarian men's national football team climbed four position in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, which was released on Thursday.

At present, Bulgaria occupies 62nd position with 537 points, being between the teams of Peru and Australia.

Thus, Bulgaria improved its performance from last month with five positions and 32 points.

Bulgaria's main opponents in qualifying Group H for EURO 2016, Italy retained its 13th position, Croatia dropped one place to the 18th spot, while Norway climbed with six positions to become 64th.

The remaining two teams are far behind, with Azerbaijan moving one place up to 115th spot and Malta similarly progressing with four positions to 145th place.

The reigning world champion Germany retained its first position, while Belgium and Argentina swapped places with the Europeans now being second, while the South Americans are third.

France and Switzerland similarly swapped their positions, with the French climbing to ninth place, while the Swiss dropped to eleventh.

The rest of top ten remains unaltered, featuring the teams of Colombia, Brazil, the Netherlands, Portugal, Uruguay and Spain.

The best mover in the ranking is Madagascar, which climbed with 37 positions, while the Maldives are the worst mover dropping with 38 places.

Anguilla occupies the last 209th spot in the ranking with two points.

The next matches of Bulgaria are a friendly against Turkey in Istanbul on Monday and a qualifier against Malta in Ta' Qali on June 12.
