Bulgaria’s government has adopted a decree confirming the minimum wage rate of BGN 360 as of January 1, 2016 and the planned hike to BGN 380 as of July 1, 2016.

The decree comes in response to the motives presented in the ruling of the Supreme Administrative Court (VAS) from May 20.

On May 20, VAS revoked a decree of the Council of Ministers from December 2014 on the minimum wage rates in 2015.

VAS stated that the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation had not been consulted about the minimum wage hikes envisaged in the decree.
