The number of people passed away on account of the extreme heat in India has drastically increased over the past several days. More than 500 people died only over the past 24 hours.

The total number of the victims has now surpassed 2,000 people, India TV reported.

Director of the Meteorology center in Hyderabad, Dr Reddy has stated that the death count as of Thursday amounts to 1,818 people, but since the heats have continued over the past several days, that number is far below the factual.

Temperatures in India have reached 47 ° C. Meteorologists have also predicted that the heats will only continue for several days more and temperatures will further increase up to 50 ° C.

Local doctors have been advising the population to drink lots of liquids, not to go out of their houses unless completely necessary as well as limiting their physical activities.
