Bulgaria Denounces Russian Presidential Elections in Occupied Ukrainian Territories

The number of Bulgarians, who completed tourist trips in the first quarter of 2015, decreased with 15 % compared to the same period last year.
According to preliminary figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), which were released on Friday, 578 800 Bulgarians completed tourist trips in the first quarter of 2015.
The vast majority of them – 83.5 % traveled only in the country, 13.8 % went only abroad, while 2.7 % had a tourist trip both domestically and abroad.
A decrease was evident both in the number of people traveling domestically and abroad, the respective drops being 15.9 % and 9.1 %.
The Bulgarians aged between 25 and 44 years completed the largest number of tourist trips – 43.2 %, with the vast majority of them (87.8 %) traveling only in the country.
Those aged between 45 and 64 years completed the largest share of trips abroad – 17.6 %.
The reason for the majority of the domestic trips was visiting relatives, while those going abroad went there mainly on holiday.
Almost all personal trips in the first quarter of 2015 (93.4 %) were organised independently, the majority of them completed without a booking.
The share of personal trips abroad organised through a tourist agency or tour operator was 10.3 %, while the domestic ones amounted to only 4.8 %.
As regards the expenses on domestic trips, the largest relative share went on food, while the majority of expenses abroad went on transport.
The average expense of personal trips in the country amounted to BGN 189, while a person going abroad would spend an average of BGN 654.
As regards business trips, the average expense domestically amounted to BGN 173 per person, while BGN 1068 were spent on average abroad.
