The second edition of the summer festival OPERA OPEN in Plovdiv will be taking place outside the stage of the Ancient Theater. The purpose is for the art to find new fans and the organizers will be attempting to gather close to 10,000 people at the events.
The opening on June 19 will feature a performance by Orlin Atanasov, who has often been called ''the new Gaurov''. Kamen Chanev will be singing for the premiere of Carmen and Ana Lucrecia (coming all the way from Arena di Verona) will be performing in Aida at the final of the festival.
''There will be events organized in various open air stages across town to complement this year's program,'' said Deputy Mayor of Plovdiv, Stefan Stoyanov.
The Museum of Aviation in the Krumovo village, the old town in Plovdiv, as well as the summer open air cinema and other recreational venues will all be included in the OPERA OPEN Light festival.
Tourist agencies in the region have also shown interest in the events as they feature a number of them on their city tour programs.
