Information was reported by the newspaper Cotidianul, and quoted by Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).
Greece takes the second spot in terms of vacation preferences, and Turkey also falls into the most wanted list with its popular resort Antalia.
Romanian tourist agencies reportedly have registered a 10% increase in the number of sold vacation packages for the May holidays, as compared to the numbers of 2014.
Additionally, Lisbon, Rome, Prague and Barcelona also ranked high on the Romanian tourists' preference list.
Local resorts in Bulgaria's northern neighbor that have also enjoyed interest were Mamaia and Vama Veche - both along the Black Sea. In Mamaia alone, 50% of available spots are already filled and close to 80% of hotels are ready to open doors for an early start of the season.
