The Bulgarian Red Cross has joined the emergency appeal launched by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to help the people in Nepal affected by the devastating earthquake on 25 April.

A National Charity Campaign in support of earthquake victims in Nepal has been launched, the Bulgarian Red Cross announced on its website.

Donations can be made by sending money to a BRC bank account or by sending a SMS to 1466 (for all Bulgarian mobile operators) at the cost of  BGN 1 per SMS.

Online donations can be made on the website of the Bulgarian Red Cross.

The CHF 33.4 M emergency appeal was launched by the IFRC to provide vital services including food, shelter and water and sanitation assistance for 75,000 vulnerable people. It followed an initial Disaster Relief Emergency Fund allocation of CHF 500,000, which was activated to ensure resources are available immediately.
