Six entities will pool efforts in the fight against smuggling and control over the movement of high-risk goods and cargo, according to a decision adopted by the Bulgarian government on Wednesday.

Under the decision, an Interinstitutional Coordination Center will be created to unite the activities of 3 directorates of the Interior Ministry (“Combating Organized Crime”, “National Police”, “Border Police”), the State Agency for National Security (DANS), and the Executive Agency Automobile Administration, according to the press office of the Bulgarian government.

The coordination center will be a permanent entity and it will be governed by an officer of the Chief Directorate Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP) of the Interior Ministry appointed through an order of the Interior Minister.
