Bulgaria: Bulgarian Rescuers Find Second Victim of Collapsed Black Sea Hotel

Rescue teams have found a second victim of the collapse of a disused hotel building on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, which occurred during deconstruction works on Wednesday.

Authorities are working to establish the identity of the man found under the rubble of Veronika Hotel at Slanchev Den holiday complex in Saints Konstantin and Elena resort 10 km north of the city of Varna, BNT TV station reported on Thursday.

On Wednesday, authorities said that one man was dead and three others were missing after the 11-storey building suddenly collapsed while workers inside were cutting reinforced steel bars at its foundations as part of a dismantling operation.

It was not immediately clear whether the second victim was one of the three workers declared missing on Wednesday.

Rescue teams will continue searching during the night for the remaining two people believed to be trapped under the heap of twisted metal and concrete.
