The United Nations Security Council is hold an extraordinary meeting on Saturday over the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
Earlier Russia called for the meeting, with its mission to the UN demanding closed-door consultations to "discuss an isse of humanitarian pause during coalition air strikes in Yemen," according to the Moscow Times.
This comes after a week of Saudi bombing and weeks of Houthi rebels' offensive across the country
A Saudi-led campaign launched in end-March has resulted in hundreds of victims damages on a number of locations across Yemen in an offensive said to be aimed at stopping Houthi rebels seeking to take over the country.
Some aid agencies believe the death toll caused by the bombing campaign could amount to 500.
Shiite Houthis topped President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi in February forcing him to leave the capital and head for the port city of Aden.
But last week he fled to Saudi Arabia after Houthis' major advances in the area.
The UNSC's session is scheduled for 15:00 GMT.
