US tennis legend Pete Sampras predicted a bright future for Bulgaria's top male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov.

In an interview for Swedish newspaper Expressen, Sampras praised the style demonstrated by Dimitrov, saying that he had something more to offer, daily Dnevnik reports.

The holder of 14 Grand Slam titles discussed the developments in male tennis in the past ten years, sharing his disappointment that current tennis was too one-dimensional.

Sampras also revealed that he was greatly influenced by Swedish tennis stars Bjorn Borg and Stefan Edberg as well as US legend John McEnroe and tried to imitate them.

According to him, now everyone imitated Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, but he expressed hope of the next generation represented by Grigor Dimitrov.
