Sharon Re-elected Likud Leader

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has been re-elected leader of his Likud party by a wide margin. Exit polls put Mr Sharon about 20 percentage points ahead his main challenger, Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. Congratulating Mr Sharon less than an hour after the polls closed, Mr Netanyahu said: "We must ensure that the next government will have the power to defeat terror."
