Twenty-two people were killed and about 17 wounded in the shooting at the Bardo national museum in Tunisia’s capital on Wednesday, the Bulgarian ambassador to the North African country has said.
There are no indications of Bulgarian nationals having been killed or wounded in the attack, Ambassador Mihail Nikolovski told Nova TV station.
Tunisian prime minister Habib Essid told national television the victims were Polish, Spanish, German, Italian and Tunisian, including 17 tourists.
Nikolovski said two gunmen and two security officers were also killed. A third suspected attacker has reportedly fled.
Among those wounded there are nationals of Italy, Poland, Spain and Japan, according to Nikolovski.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
