Israel is voting in parliamentary elections Tuesday to elect 120 deputies for the Knesset.

Polling stations opened at 7 a.m. local time and are to close at 10 p.m., with nearly six million Israelis eligible to vote, according to reports of the BBC News.

According to recent opinion polls, Likud, the right-wing party of Benjamin Netanyahu, is expected to get 20-22 seats, while the center-left Zionist Union led by Isaac Herzog is to win 25-26 seats.

Netanyahu has ruled out the establishment of a Palestinian state in the election campaign, vowing to continue the construction of settlements in occupied east Jerusalem.
