FlixBus Expands Routes from Bulgaria: New Connections to Thessaloniki, Athens, and More
FlixBus, the renowned European bus company, is set to launch new routes to and from Bulgaria in anticipation of the summer season
In January 2015, Bulgarians completed more than 295 000 travels abroad, which represents an increase of 8.3 % compared to the same month of 2014.
This became clear from the latest figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), which were released on Friday.
There was an increase in the number of Bulgarian travelers to France, the UK, Belgium, Greece, Spain, Serbia and Germany, while fewer Bulgarians went to the Czech Republic, Turkey, Italy, Romania and Austria.
The largest share of travels abroad in January 2015 were made for other purposes (visits, education, visiting of cultural and sport events), followed by business trips and holidays.
There was an increase in the number of business trips and holiday travels in January 2015 compared to the same month last year.
In January 2015, the visits of foreigners to Bulgaria amounted to more than 393 000, which represents an increase of 6.9 % compared to the same month of 2014.
There was an increase in the number of business trips and travels for other purposes, while fewer foreigners came to Bulgaria on holiday.
The largest share of foreigners, who visited Bulgaria in January 2015, originated from the EU, which was an increase of 4.7 % compared to the same month last year.
Bulgaria was visited by a larger number of people from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the UK and Austria, while there was a drop in the number of visitors from Croatia and the Czech Republic
There was also an increase in the number of visitors from other European countries, the largest share coming from Turkey.
