18 Athletes Represent Bulgaria at Balkan Championship

Bulgaria will be represented by 18 athletes at the forthcoming Balkan Indoor Championships, which is scheduled to take place on February 21 in Istanbul.

The championship is organised by the Association of Balkan Athletic Federations and the Turkish Athletic Federation, daily Standart reports.

Bulgaria is to have representatives in the following disciplines – 60 metres, 400 metres, 800 metres, 1500 metres, 3000 metres, 60 metres hurdles, high jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put.

Vanya Stambolova, who won three titles from the state championship in Dobrich and set a record for Bulgaria at the 400 metres hurdles, will be the Bulgarian representative competing in most disciplines.

According to the rules, each country can have two representatives at the most in each of the separate disciplines.
