Bulgaria: Libyan Court May Delay Sitting in Trial of Two Bulgarian Nationals

A Libyan court trying two Bulgarian nationals on charges of smuggling oil products will most likely postpone its sitting scheduled for Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry in Sofia has said

Acccording to the latest information available from Tripoli, the court is likely to delay the sitting at the request of the defence lawyers who had asked to be given more time to study all documents relating to the case, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Betina Zhoteva told BNR radio station on Tuesday.

The two Bulgarian nationals are in good health, Zhoteva added.

The first sitting of the court was held on 4 February and the second one on 11 February.

The two defendants are part of the five-member crew of Maltese tanker vessel Sunoil I detained in Tripoli on 3 January for alleged smuggling of oil products.
