Home Sweet Home: The Reality of Housing in Bulgaria Revealed
New data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) sheds light on the housing landscape in Bulgaria, painting a picture of the majority of Bulgarians residing in older homes.
According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, increased by 1.1% on the month in December 2014.

In December 2014, the seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index registered monthly increases in the mining and quarrying industry by 2.1%, in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply by 1.1%, and in the processing industry by 1.0%.
The largest increases in the sphere of the processing industry were registered in the production of basic metals by 11.4%, pharmaceutical substances and products by 8.6%, tobacco products by 7.3%, textile and textile products by 5.6%, motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers by 5.2%.
Decreases were registered in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 26.1%, in the production of special-purpose and general-purpose machinery and equipment by 11.2%, in the production of computer, electronic, and optical products by 7.2%.
In December 2014, the Industrial Production Index, calculated on the basis of working day adjusted data, registered a year-on-year increase in the processing industry by 6.8%, while year-on-year decreases were reported in the mining and quarrying industry by 15.3% and in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply by 3.1%.
In the processing industry, the largest year-on-year increases were registered in the production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 53.9%, in the production of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, by 26.2%, in the production of leather and related products by 21.2%, in the production of pharmaceutical substances and products by 18.7%, in the production of textile and textile products by 14.8%, and in the production of tobacco products by 13.7%.
Decreases were registered in the production of machinery and equipment by 7.3%, in the production of beverages by 6.5%, and in the production of apparel by 3.7%.
