A disciplinary action has been taken against border policemen at the Kapitan Petko Voyvoda border checkpoint, who are suspected of human trafficking.

The investigation is conducted against 15 out of all 17officers who are working at the checkpoint, the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reports.

There are suspicions that the border policemen received bribes for the trafficking of foreigners.

The check has not concluded yet, but according to unofficial sources nine officers are faced with disciplinary dismissal while six of them will be charged with lighter measures.

The investigated policemen have been removed from duty and actions have been taken for ensuring the normal crossing of the Bulgarian - Greek border.
