Tatyana Stoyanova, head of the Pazardzhik Mayor’s Office, was shot dead Monday evening in front of her home.

Stoyanova had just parked her car outside her home in Dimitar Grekov Street in Pazardzhik and had headed for the entrance of the block of flats when she was shot in the head, according to reports of Nova TV.

The murderer managed to escape.

The incident happened at around 6.45 pm.

The shots proved fatal and the 34-year-old woman died on the spot.

The area has been sealed off and the police are investigating the case.

The motives behind the shooting are unclear.

Stoyanova was appointed head of the Pazardzhik Mayor’s Office in Pazardzhik in 2007.

Prior to that, she was PR official of Todor Popov, the current Mayor of Pazardzhik.
